Pantone goes Pepto

I’m no Barbra Walters, breaking cutting edge news…I’m pretty sure by now EVERYONE knows that Pantone has named its 2011 color of year which is ‘honeysuckle’. I won’t lie: I heard the name, pictured some form of yellow and called it a day. It wasn’t until my fab friend Sarah did a post on the color that I perked up my ears….PINK you say!?!? WTF!?

Although I know most ladies are peeing in their honeysuckle panties, I could not be more disappointed. I love color, I HATE pink. I own perhaps 1-2 pink items and both are a blazing hot pink for the days I’m feeling a  little 80′s inspiration. Can we also please note that Honeysuckle could not be a WORSE name for a color of pink!? HELLO. Who do they have driving this thing!? (side note: my secret dream job is to be hired by a major nail polish company to name color…cough…essie….cough cough….I’m in Astoria…..)

Any-who-zits I am now fondly referring to this year as: “2011- the year Pepto Bismol pink was labeled a ‘trend’
